Face and Beauty

At Essence dental clinic we are able to offer treatment to help reverse the signs of ageing. Our tailored treatments are used to soften lines and wrinkles, as well as adding volume to the face and lips.

Anti-wrinkle Treatment - Botox

Botox works by weakening the targeted muscles around deep-set facial lines and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox injections are primarily used to eliminate wrinkles on the forehead and brow area as well as crows’ feet around the eyes. The results can usually be seen within three to seven days and can last for four months or longer.

Botox is a non-invasive facial treatment that is able to rejuvenate the appearance of skin for both men and women. The unique ingredients in Botox are able to reduce the movement of the muscles which over time cause lines and wrinkles to appear. By lessening the contraction of muscles for a short while, Botox lessens their negative effects and prevents any new wrinkles from forming.

Botox treatment only takes 10 minutes to complete, but can alleviate signs of aging almost instantly, leaving you with a fresher and more rejuvenated face. More and more people are investing in Botox as a quick and non-invasive procedure for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, and with many dental practices now offering the service it’s easier than ever to treat yourself to facial rejuvenation.

Results with Botox can last between 3-6 months, so you will need to come back to Essence dental clinic to maintain your rejuvenation. Today, Botulinum Toxin Cosmetic is seeing more use as a cosmetic enhancement.

Some of the areas for which it is effective include:
Wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
Frown lines
Wrinkled forehead
Sides of the nose
Lower eyelids
Upper lip

Botox can be beneficial for adults of all ages. It is usually a good practice to use botox to soften lines early, rather than leaving them to develop and becoming deep set. Patients that are pregnant or breast-feeding should delay treatment as a precaution. Patients with muscle weakness conditions or those taking blood-thinning medications such as Warfarin may also not be suitable candidates for botox treatment.

Dermal fillers

Derma fillers are placed to selectively replace lost volume in the face. They can also be used to give a more youthful or fuller appearance of the lips. As with botox, factors such as natural ageing, stress, smoking, damage by sunlight, and natural genetics all contribute to a loss in collagen, elastin, fat and other natural moisturizing substances from the skin.
These are the materials that prevent the skin from becoming saggy. Thus, as we age, our skin can become thinner and more wrinkled and lined.

Dermal fillers help to restore our skin to its former youthful appearance. Material is injected into the skin in areas where it needs to be plumped up again and made to look firmer.

At Essence Dental Clinic, we use non-permanent dermal fillers, which is a safe and predictable material to work with. Juvederm Ultra 3 is a type of dermal filler we often use, which contains its own anaesthetic, which helps makes filler injections as pain free as possible. For very sensitive patients, local anesthetic solution can also be administered to the lips for injecting the fillers.
Unlike botox, with dermal fillers, the results are seen instantly. Here may be some slight bruising or redness around the injection site, which will go soon after the injections have been administered. Dermal fillers will last approximately 6 months, but of course results vary from one person to the next.
