Porcelain Veneers

Veneers in dentistry are a fantastic tool to help restore teeth and to cosmetically change the smile. Veneers can be used to make teeth appear straighter and whiter.

A natural tooth coloured crown is then placed over the Dental Implant. This new tooth can look, feel and perform just like a natural tooth. It is also possible to use multiple implants to support a denture or bridge.

Traditionally, teeth are drilled or trimmed down from the front, and thin veneers are bonded on to the tooth surface. With modern advancements in bonding systems, and veneer materials, dental veneers can now be made thinner and stronger than ever. Whichever veneer type is chosen, we can make a temporary trial smile.

This is where the intended veneers are made out of wax on a model taken of your mouth. After assessing this, we can then use material to create this on your teeth, to show you what the intended veneers are going to look like. This gives patients the opportunity to suggest changes and ensure that the final result is exactly what is desired. Trial smiles are made at no extra charge at Essence Dental Clinic.

At Essence Dental Clinic we use some the industries leading materials such as E-max veneers. Superior aesthetics and strength mean we can do single veneers, to complete smile cases in just two weeks.

Direct veneers are placed with great success at Essence Dental Clinic. We can use a highly aesthetic restorative material to bond on to the tooth surface. The material can be bonded to change the shape and colour of the exisiting teeth. The benefit of this treatment modality is that the veneers can be performed from start to finish, all in one treatment session.

Porcelain Veneers can be used in the following situations:

  • If your front teeth are stained, chipped, or malaligned, veneers will give you a good life-like appearance with minimum tooth adjustment. A veneer is a porcelain facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail.
  • Porcelain veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth.
  • Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable.

If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
