Your First Visit at Essence Dental Clinic

We want your first visit, and every visit to be a great experience. Most of our new patients come to us for a check-up but some come to use our Emergency Dental Service.

On your first Visit we will ask you to fill in a confidential medical questionnaire. It may be helpful if you could also bring your GP details and NHS number which are required on the medical form.
You are then taken to a treatment room where the dentist and dental nurse introduce themselves. We take a dental and social history and carry out an examination and perhaps take a radiograph.

We then discuss with you our findings and various options for treatment which are documented on a written itemised treatment plan that the patient can take home. At all stages the patient is  involved and we encourage them to ask as many questions as they wish.

Hygienist

Dental hygiene treatment is delivered by our team of hygienists here at Essence Dental Clinic. They have a unique skill to professionally clean your teeth with special equipment and pastes, also known as scaling and polishing. An important aspect of the hygienist’s role is to show you how to look after your teeth so they remain free from plaque. You will be advised on the best brushing technique and given tips on flossing and using interdental brushes.

Dental hygiene also forms part of treating gum disease and bad breath. To keep your mouth in tip top shape we recommend you come in for regular hygiene appointments. Call us today to book your appointment on
