The clinic and our facilities
We are a five surgery practice, fully equipped with the facilities required to provide you with a comfortable dental experience.
Our ground floor surgery is suitable for disabled patients and there is a ramp access to our practice for those in wheelchairs. The practice has a private car park for patients and we are easily accessible by bus services.

About our Principle Dentist
Dr. Satvir Atkar BDS (Lond)
Dr. Satvir Atkar graduated from King’s College London and brings over 22 years of experience in dentistry. As the Principal Dentist and Implantologist at Essence, Dr. Satvir Atkar oversees the smooth running of the practice, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care.
Known for a caring and empathetic approach, Dr. Satvir Atkar is deeply committed to making patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their treatment journey. This patient-focused ethos is at the heart of Dr. Satvir Atkar’s practice.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Satvir Atkar has been a Foundation Trainer for dental students for the past 10 years, playing a key role in mentoring and developing the next generation of dental professionals. This dedication to education reflects a broader commitment to advancing the profession and maintaining the highest standards in dental care.

Hygienist
Dental hygiene treatment is delivered by our team of hygienists here at the practice. They have a unique skill to professionally clean your teeth with special equipment and pastes, also known as scaling and polishing.
An important aspect of the hygienist’s role is to show you how to look after your teeth so they remain free from plaque. You will be advised on the best brushing technique and given tips on flossing and using interdental brushes.
NHS Treatment & private
The NHS provides all the treatment necessary to secure and maintain your oral health. There are some treatments however which are not available under the NHS (e.g. cosmetic procedures) and you may choose to have such procedures carried out on a private basis.
You may also choose to have some treatments provided privately as an alternative to NHS treatment. We believe in providing our patients with a choice and we would be more than happy to discuss these options with you.
