Dental Hygiene
from only £70
At Essence Dental Clinic, we offer a comprehensive dental hygiene service dedicated to maintaining your oral health and preventing dental problems before they start.
Your hygienist’s primary role is to provide a professional scale and polish, carefully removing harmful plaque and hardened tartar (calculus) deposits that can accumulate on your teeth and gums. These deposits, if left untreated, can cause inflammation and infection, putting your teeth at risk of early loss.
It’s important to understand the difference between a scale and polish and a full hygiene appointment:
- A scale and polish primarily focuses on removing surface stains and cleaning the visible parts of your teeth to improve appearance and freshness.
- A hygiene appointment is a more thorough and detailed treatment. It involves deep cleaning below the gumline, targeting plaque and tartar buildup in areas that are difficult to reach with everyday brushing. Additionally, the hygienist will assess your gum health, provide personalized advice on oral care techniques, and recommend products tailored to your needs.
Beyond cleaning, the hygienist will also guide you on the best techniques for brushing and flossing, helping you maintain optimal oral hygiene at home.
The long-term success of any dental treatment relies heavily on maintaining good oral hygiene, which is why we offer this essential service to our patients at great value. Regular hygiene appointments are key to preserving your smile and overall health for years to come.
