Do I need to see a hygienist?

So you brush your teeth regularly, you see your dentist every six months – why do we recommend you see a hygienist either every 3 or 6 months as well?

Whilst your dentist will look after the general care of your teeth, your hygienist has specialised tools to get into the tiniest gaps that brushing alone just can’t get to. So even if you have the latest whiz bang electric toothbrush, you can still miss a bit 😉

What does this mean for you and your mouth?

  • Removing long term stains means cleaner teeth than you could ever hope to achieve by brushing at home.
  • Preventing tooth loss by stopping gum disease (which is reversible if caught in the early stages).
  • Stopping bad breath by removing bacteria from under the gum line.
  • Our hygienist can help with all the above. By helping you to maintain a cleaner, brighter smile with fresh breath you can approach life as well as people 😉 with more confidence and self-esteem.
  • So in case if you thought that a hygienist was just a fancy teeth cleaner, you may just want to reconsider.
